VACUUM CLEANING CARPETS, RUGS, & MATS

Always vacuum clean your carpets, rugs, and mats thoroughly before attempting to clean out dirt and stains with a spotter, extractor, or shampoo carpet cleaner. There is a very wide range of residential and commercial vacuum cleaners to choose from, so make sure that You choose the right vacuum cleaner for the job.

For Cut-Pile Rugs & Carpets, that have a smooth flat pile surface, use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar to allow removal of dust and other soil particles from deeper within the pile. It is important that the beater bar height is set correctly to lightly vibrate the carpet pile without causing damage to the rug surface or vacuum cleaner. Avoid getting fringes caught in the beater bar.

For some Looped-Pile Rugs & Carpets, you may need to avoid using a beater bar in order not to damage the loops. If you have any doubts ask for advice at the store where you bought your loop-pile rug or carpeting.

Diversey offers a comprehensive range of 11 Carpet Spotters that are specifically formulated to be used individually or combined, for removing a wide range of localized stains from all types of carpets and rugs. If possible you should identify the type of stain and apply the suggested spotters in the order as shown in the Diversey Carpet Spotter Chart. If you cannot identify the stain type use General Purpose Spotter first then, if the stain remains, follow with Paint Oil Grease (POG) Spotter or Citrus Express Gel. SSS (Triple S) Carpet Cleaning Spotters
Triple S offers a more compact range of 7 Carpet Spotters that are also specifically formulated to be used individually or combined, for removing a wide range of localized stains from all types of carpets and rugs. Once a stain has been identified spotters should be used in the exact order specified in the SSS Carpet Spotter Chart. If you cannot identify the stain type use Enzyme Spotter first then, if the stain remains, follow with Coffee Stain Remover, followed by the Citrus Gel Spotter if necessary.

The Triple S Power Spotter 4 Spotting Machine and Triple S Wildcat Spotting Machine are highly recommended for portability and carpet spottting in difficult to reach areas.

JANITORIAL BONNET CLEANING VERSUS CARPET SHAMPOOING

In Bonnet Cleaning only the top outer layer of the carpet is cleaned so that it can dry quickly. The carpet is sprayed with carpet cleaning detergent and a bonnet pad, used on a standard speed rotary floor buffer, buffs dirt from the top of the carpet pile. Diversey Bonnet Buff cleans carpet surfaces effectively and does not cause re-soiling.

Carpet Cleaning Shampoo can be used with rotary brush or dry foam machines to clean deeper into your carpet pile. When applying the shampoo with a brush and a standard speed rotary floor buffer machine the brushing action foams the shampoo into the carpet pile. Dry foam machines generate the foam internally. Unlike many carpet shampoos, Diversey Carpet Shampoo leaves no sticky residue which would otherwise lead to rapid carpet re-soiling.

DEEP CARPET CLEANING BY PRE-SPRAYING & USING AN EXTRACTOR MACHINE

A Carpet Extractor Machine uses an electric pump to force carpet cleaning detergent deep into the carpet pile. It then pulls the liquid back out, along with entrained dirt and soil, by using powerful vacuum extraction motors.

Self-Contained Carpet Extractors pump in detergent, additionally brush the carpet to loosen dirt and stains, and then suck out the liquid and entrained dirt. Diversey Extraction Cleaner is formulated to work with modern high pressure carpet extractors and contains corrosion inhibitors to protect your extraction machine.

Heavy-Duty Pre-Spraying can be used to loosen dirt or stains in heavily soiled carpets prior to brushing with a rotary floor buffer and brush. Finally, the carpet should be rinsed and extracted using a carpet extractor. Diversey Heavy Duty Prespray Plus is a pH neutral cleaner containing soil repellent to reduce re-soiling, and Diversey Extraction Rinse flushes out and removes detergent residues that cause re-soiling.
