STEP 1 - Identify The Type Of Stone Floor That You Need To Clean

Stone Floors can be made from a variety of naturally occurring or man-made stone materials:
3.1. Natural Stone Floors including Marble, Granite, Travertine, Flagstone, Slate...
3.2. Man-Made Stone Floors including Ceramic Tiles, Clay Bricks & Tiles, Quarry Tiles, Terrazzo, Concrete...

When cleaning any of these Stone Floor types, the primary factor involved in determining the optimum cleaning technique is the amount of Open Surface Porosity which can absorb dirt and stains, and this can be minimized by Sealing the floor surface with a proprietary Stone Floor Sealant (a variety of formulations are available, with some designed specifically for a particular stone floor type).

STEP 2 - Identify The Best MethodologyTo Clean Your Stone Floor

Always avoid the use of strong detergents, abrasives, or acids when cleaning any type of stone floor. Specific recommendations for how to clean Your sealed & finished stone floor depend primarily upon your specific scenario:
3.3. Residential Floor Cleaning - for lightly-trodden, relatively small stone floor areas
3.4. Janitorial Floor Cleaning - for large and/or heavily-used areas in commercial or institutional buildings

STEP 3 - Identify The Optimum Cleaning Supplies For Your Stone Floors

Residential and other lightly-used stone floors require relatively little maintenance and only basic floor cleaning equipment and supplies, whereas stone floors subjected to higher traffic in commercial and institutional applications generally require daily maintenance using floor machines and specialty cleaning formulations derived specifically for stone floors.

Diversey offers an excellent range of Janitorial Supplies For Maintaining Stone Floors, &
